Founded by Turkish actresses Özge Özder, Aslı Tandoğan and Ayça Varlıer, and supported by many member celebrities, Bana Göz Kulak Ol Association (BGKO) in Turkey released its second public awareness film to stand up to animal cruelty. This time they stepped up efforts to getting people to think about and act on the bitter truths behind the brutal fur industry.
In the two-and-a-half-minute BGKO-PToT Films co-production, the celebrities voice the miserable lives of captive fur-bearing animals, the physical and psychological pain they go through, and the violent methods of killings to put a spotlight on the millions of animals slaughtered for their fur.
Started on the 3rd of February with #TakeOffYourFur #WearYourConscience – #KürkünüÇıkarVicdanınıGiy messages on social media, BGKO’s anti-fur campaign will continue for a long time to extend to launching celebrity interviews, photo exhibitions and more anti-fur videos.
While Freedom for Dolphins Platform (FFDP – Yunuslara Özgürlük Platformu) and Freedom to Earth Association (Yeryüzüne Özgürlük Derneği) participate in the campaign actively in Turkey, Humane Society International, International Anti-Fur Coalition, Anti-Fur Society, Network for Animal Freedom, Norwegian Animal Protection Society and PETA support this anti-fur movement from abroad with their video archives.
Last year, BGKO also called out to end animal captivity in dolphin parks and animal circuses with their first PSA “Benim Bir Dostum Var” (I Have A Friend) adopted from Oceanic Preservation Society’s “My Friend” PSA and focused on Taiji dolphin drive hunt’s direct connection with the global captive industry.
