Kaş District Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Livestock sent the electronic letter below on 20.12.2011 as an official reply to our applications in the lines of right to information act regarding the re-opening of the Kaş Dolphinarium. Without making any changes to it, we are sharing the letter (Translation is done by us – No English response received).
REPORT
Regarding the numerous online complaint petitions the Presidential Communications Center and our District Directorate Information Centre received about the dolphins, our District Directorate sent an inspection team to the Dolphin and Seal Show Centre, belonging to the WHALE TURİZM TİC.LTD.ŞTİ., in the İnceboğaz region on the Çukurbağ Peninsula in the Kaş Municipality and retained the below-listed information:
1. There are 4 dolphins in cages in the facility, which was previously operated as a rehabilitation centre.
2. These dolphins were transported from Bodrum Güvercinlik to Kaş by driver Mehmet Ali Uçar on behalf of Yunfo Tur.Tic.Ltd.Şti. with a vehicle that has a license plate 07 SAA 45. Animal transportation veterinary health report was dated 28.11.2011 and had registrated with the number 478030.
3. The copy of the Bern Convention presented, which was on given by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on behalf of Yunfo Tur.Tic.Ltd.Şti., was dated 12.12.2005 and registrated with the number 027787.
4. Kaş Fiscal Directorate has leased out the facility to Petr KARAKALCHEV on behalf of Whale Turizm Tic.Ltd.Şti. via notarial contract, dated 18.01.2011, as Dolphin and Seal Show Centre.
5. The company has no business and operation license received from any institution whatsoever. 14.12.2011
